Lansdown is proud to be the first club in Gloucestershire to sign up to the R & A’s Women in Golf Charter. In doing so, we are committed to maintaining an inclusive culture within the club and to further develop our policies to encourage women and girls to play and work within the game.
Female members at Lansdown have long since enjoyed equal playing rights with the men and are actively encouraged to volunteer and participate in a variety of club initiatives and events.
We have a lively and competitive ladies’ section and we are committed to recruiting more women and girls into membership over the coming year. To achieve this, will be reviewing our membership categories to increase flexibility and make our packages more attractive to working ladies and junior girls. We also intend to set up coaching programmes specifically aimed at female beginners.
We have a major event planned for April when we will be staging an Open Day for beginners and experienced golfers and we will ensure that the drive to attract more women and girls to our club will be at the forefront of this endeavour.
