Lansdown Ladies Section
Ladies have been playing golf at Lansdown since 1894 and we are proud that our lady members have enjoyed full membership of the club without restrictions for many years. Today, we have a thriving and competitive Ladies' section, catering for players of all abilities.
Ladies' competitions are held on Thursdays, and at weekends, and these include strokeplay, match play and team events. Trophy competitions are normally held on Thursdays and these are replicated for our working ladies on Sundays. Regular roll-ups are organised on Tuesday mornings and these are friendly games, open to all. New lady members are encouraged to come along to these sessions and quickly make new friends.
Competition has always been a key feature of our Ladies' Section and we play singles league matches, off scratch, against other local clubs in the Bristol & District Lady Golfers Alliance.
We also run friendly greensomes matches and mixed friendly matches against other clubs in the area, alternating home and away matches each year - giving ladies of all abilities the opportunity to experience match play and enjoy other courses.
New lady members - whether experienced golfers or new to the game - are assured of a warm welcome at Lansdown.
For complete beginners, we are currently running coaching sessions on Saturday afternoons from 12pm till 1pm - all equipment provided. If you are interested in joining one of these groups, contact our teaching professional Dan on 07918 857423 / [email protected].
